craft - industry

As industrial designer technology is important, very important, because INDUSTRIAL and DESIGN, that says all.  A way of understand design could be as the series of strategies that we use to solve a problem through the making of an artifice, this could be material or conceptual, a device or a trick. In that way design is the making of technology, so as industrial designers we work with and create technology. In "this new era" technology has have a huge impact in the different processes of design, from the craft to the industry. More than make a description of a process in particular I would like to say that the  new kind of material, industrial processes and construction techniques generate a huge impact in the way we think the process of making a "thing". Even if there is a blackout and we are not be able to use "electrical new technologies" and we have to star working on an analogical way, we still gonna try to reproduce and apply those digit

New year resolutions, YU-PI-!

Two thousand and twenty, Twenty Twenty, dos mil veinte (how bilingual!) New year resolutions, yupi!! Challenges for the new year, oh yeah! First one, staying alive! Second, that all my dreams come true! Last, but not least, the fall of capitalism!! As 2020 it is just a way of administrate that thing that we call time, I don't think year resolution should exist, maybe just resolution for the future to come, what it's the same, but at the same time not... So, this are my thoughts for this 4718 (for the chinese calendar). Well, I think the real challenge for the time to come is to be able to manage the collapse and fall of every structure that doesn't work with our wishes for a new and renovated way of living that considere us as... humans and not just a productive robots. It is time to kill, crush and transform something, anything we considerer a detriment for our existence. Also recognize, and think, and accept, the academy as space o

THE concert

OMG it was the best concert ever!!  I always say that I've gone to just one concert ever in my entire life, but if I thought a bit longer I realize that I've gone to a lot. The thing is I payed just for one, so that is the one I remember the most, basiclly because... I don't know, because I am a capitalist pig and the only experiences that disserve a space in my cold and materialist heart are the one wich I payed for. Or maybe because it was the only concert that I planned to go, so it felt like I did all the things that it supposes to be done. When/where it was? On April 2012. At Parque O'Higgins here in Santiago (At the begining it was called Parque CousiƱo, since 1873 to 1972. Its original name was after an aristocrat who decided to comission to a french arquitect transform a plot of land in a beautiful, refind and hip park). Who was playing? Since it was a festival people would supose that I saw a lot of artist, but I won't. Actuall

An image where I'd like to go.

It has always been in mind to travel to a distant place. To a vast steppe. No hills around, not in the distance, not even beyond the horizon. Something like a desert, but a freezing cold desert with not so bright white light, with a tint of blue, diffused for the thick layer of dark grey clouds and cover for a harsh brown grass carpet. I’d like to visit a place like that not to see the view, but to feel the wind. It should be strong, cold and dry. In my mind I walk through the grass with a stool in my hand and a mug in the other, I took a place in the middle of the steppe, and stay there, staring while I drink tea. When I think in that place I’ve always thought in Tierra del Fuego, a distant island at the end of the world, where after the european invasion, the colonization, the Selk'nam genocide and the hunt of every animal in the land there is nothing more than grass and wind. There is no more else than the land itself. In a less poetic way (or maybe not) a place like th
