all the work that she do

When I was 21 I met a guy who loves loves coffee and cigarettes, Foucault and Björk.

She is an icelandic singer, composer, musician... artist, but beyond all the things that she do with her music, I really admire all the collaborations that she do.

All the work that she do with new, different and hip producers, as Arca for her last two albums Vulnicura and Utopia, or Trickie for her second album Post.

All the work that she did with the french world knowing film director Michel Gondry in her music videos for: Human Behavior, Army of me, Crystalline, Declare Independence, Bacheloratte, Jóga, Hyperballad and Isobel. And the collaboration with the medial artist Matthew Barney (knowing for his film serie Cremaster) for his film Drawing Restraint 9 in which she composed, produced and performed the soundtrack.

All the work that she do with great fashion designers as her friend Alexander McQueen who makes several of her festival, concert and music video looks. Or the current work with the talented german designer Iris Van Herpen, knowing for her mixture between hi-tech production techniques and haute couture. Or her latest collaboration with Balmain and Louis Vuitton.

All the work that she do with new artist like James T Merry, british embroidery artist, who makes all her head pieces and the accesories for the stage and the design of all the conceptual art for the album. And with the make up artist  and drag queen Hungry, who design all the conceptual make up for her last two albums.

All the work that she do with engineers to create new instrument and posibilites to reach new sounds. She worked with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the making of her seventh album Biophilia, and with a group of "IT guys" in the development of the first app album in 2011.

All the work that she do.

All the work that a bunch of people do with her.

An image where I'd like to go.

It has always been in mind to travel to a distant place. To a vast steppe. No hills around, not in the distance, not even beyond the horizon. Something like a desert, but a freezing cold desert with not so bright white light, with a tint of blue, diffused for the thick layer of dark grey clouds and cover for a harsh brown grass carpet. I’d like to visit a place like that not to see the view, but to feel the wind. It should be strong, cold and dry. In my mind I walk through the grass with a stool in my hand and a mug in the other, I took a place in the middle of the steppe, and stay there, staring while I drink tea. When I think in that place I’ve always thought in Tierra del Fuego, a distant island at the end of the world, where after the european invasion, the colonization, the Selk'nam genocide and the hunt of every animal in the land there is nothing more than grass and wind. There is no more else than the land itself. In a less poetic way (or maybe not) a place like th...

there you are!

On summer I was having a random chat with a friend and out of a joke I end up at Chiloé; 1200km away from my house. friend: how has the city treated you? me: has been a nigthmare, it is so freaking hot. I suppose you’re having a god time dealing with the cold at your island. friend: jajajajajajaja, actually it has been pretty hot these days too. me: jajajaja yeah, sure. I check the weather, there is like 20° in your island. friend: that’s for you… The people in here are panicking. me: I should go to your island and stay forever, so I will never feel a summer like this again. friend: jjajajajajaja you should come, I’m taking some days off the next week. me: oh, really? Look at that! it sounds interesting. Don’t say something from what you could regret in the future, I take these proposals quite seriously. friend: jajajajaja I won’t. me: … ok. I already buy the plain tickets. See on Monday. friend: O_O My mom was the most excited about the ...

New year resolutions, YU-PI-!

Two thousand and twenty, Twenty Twenty, dos mil veinte (how bilingual!) New year resolutions, yupi!! Challenges for the new year, oh yeah! First one, staying alive! Second, that all my dreams come true! Last, but not least, the fall of capitalism!! As 2020 it is just a way of administrate that thing that we call time, I don't think year resolution should exist, maybe just resolution for the future to come, what it's the same, but at the same time not... So, this are my thoughts for this 4718 (for the chinese calendar). Well, I think the real challenge for the time to come is to be able to manage the collapse and fall of every structure that doesn't work with our wishes for a new and renovated way of living that considere us as... humans and not just a productive robots. It is time to kill, crush and transform something, anything we considerer a detriment for our existence. Also recognize, and think, and accept, the academy as space o...
